AVANTGARDET (S) live @ RiP 19/9!
Since their 2016 debut, the Swedish indie sensation AVANTGARDET has played hundreds of shows and earned three Grammis nominations; furthermore, vocalist and frontman Rasmus Arvidsson has received the SKAP Award for Lyricist of the Year for his social-realist portrayals. They are currently touring with the critically acclaimed album *United States av Sverige*. It took ten years, but the band is finally ready for RiP!
With eleven full-length albums, a compilation, a podcast series, and a book immortalizing the unique bond between the band and its dedicated fans, Avantgardet has become just as much a fixture on major festival stages as in sweaty, intimate basement venues.
With releases and concerts topping "best of the year" lists, Rasmus Arvidsson's journey with Avantgardet saw him transform—in under three years—from a life defined by substance abuse issues to an acclaimed artist. It is a journey undertaken entirely without a record label or music industry backing; the band nonetheless grew and found its place, largely thanks to the love of a loyal audience and unique collaborations with creative forces such as Jocke Åhlund, Björn Olsson, Pelle Gunnerfeldt, Henrik Schyffert, Peter Birro, and El Perro del Mar.
The creative energy surrounding Avantgardet can likely be attributed to the genuine love, honesty, dedication, and joy that the band shares with its audience.
Avantgardet are Rasmus Arvidsson (vocals, guitar) and Patrik Åberg (guitar), but playing live the band also includes Marcus Olsson (keys, saxophone), Johan Offerlind (bass), Andreas Ejnarsson (guitar), August Berg (drums) and Mats Björke (keys, bongo).
